One person has died in a Canterbury crash this afternoon.
Police have released an update tonight confirming the fatality from the crash on State Highway 73, near Sheffield.
It followed an earlier release which said the two-vehicle crash at the intersection with Deans Rd was reported about 2.50pm today.
Two further people sustained minor injuries in the crash, police said.
The Serious Crash Unit was in attendance and the road was expected to remain closed for several hours.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
