A person is fighting for their life and another is in a serious condition after the motorbike they were on crashed into a road barrier in the Waikato today.
State Highway 1 at Rangiriri has been partially closed following the crash just after 9am, police said.
There would be significant delays for traffic for several hours while police investigated the scene.
Southbound traffic was being diverted 50m north of the Rangiriri Tavern. The northbound lanes remained open.
One of the riders was in a life-threatening condition and the other had suffered serious injuries, police said.
Both riders were flown to Waikato Hospital by rescue helicopter.
