A homicide investigation has been launched after two people were found dead at a home in Tūrangi, in the North Island's Waikato district.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Yardley said police were called shortly before 10pm on Wednesday to a Poihaere St property, where they located the bodies.
A scene guard remains in place while an examination is carried out.
Yardley said the public could expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days while police work out what has happened.
"Police extend our deepest sympathies to the whānau and loved ones of the deceased, who we will continue to keep updated as the investigation progresses."
