Hard steel and sturdy bronze become delicate feathers and soaring forms in the hands of a Central Lakes-based sculptor.

Originally from South Africa, Simon Max Bannister, has he's been enjoying the artistic inspirations of Wanaka for the past two years.

Exploring the impact industry has on the natural world, Bannister transforms industrial materials like steel and bronze into organic shapes.
