Chris ''The Duchess'' Walton, a flamboyant 45-year-old grandmother, has been officially recognised as the woman with longest nails in the world, with a combined length of almost 6m.
Walton's achievement was publicised today (NZ time) at the New York launch of the 2012 edition of the Guinness Book of Records, Stuff reports.
The left hand nails are reportedly 3.09m long in total while on the right they are 2.92m.
Walton, who has been growing her nails for 18 years, says she doesn't drink milk or stick to any other nail-friendly diet.
"Candy and a lot of patience," were the keys to her success.
