Police have found a station wagon linked to an aggravated robbery at a Z service station in Dunedin earlier this week but are still appealing for help from the public.

Police say three men - one armed with a firearm - entered the Z Valley Service Station in Kaikorai Valley Road on Monday about 9.45pm and stole cash and tobacco before leaving in the vehicle.

Acting Detective Sergeant Jo McLaughlan said the silver Subaru Impreza station wagon was found in Gladstone Rd yesterday.

While the service attendant was not injured, they were very shaken and are receiving support.

Acting Det Sgt McLaughlan  said the trio's behaviour was "completely unacceptable and we are determined to hold those responsible to account".

"We continue to seek information from anyone who may have seen this Subaru station wagon travelling between 6pm on Monday 23 March and midday yesterday, 25 March.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who may have been offered cheap tobacco in the Southern District."

Anyone with information that may help the investigation is encouraged to call 105 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
