New Zealander batter Rachin Ravindra hits through the legside as West Indies wicketkeeper Shai Hope looks on in the opening T20 international at Eden Park in Auckland last night.

The Windies won by seven runs.

Hope shone with the bat for the visiting side, scoring 53 in their innings of 164 for six.

In reply, the home side looked dead and buried at 107 for nine chasing 165 to win but an innings of from 55 not out off 28 balls from Mitchell Santner got his side very close.

Jayden Seales took three for 32 off his four overs for the West Indies to be the leading bowler.
