The Dunedin-based Naval Volunteer Reserve unit’s St Andrew St headquarters is closing, meaning this year is the last time it will host Posy Day.

Volunteers create rosemary and red paper posies to lay on soldiers’ graves on Anzac Day, April 25.

They will be making more than 4000 posies at the facility next Friday.

RSA Welfare Trust administrator Sally Turner said it would be ‘‘quite poignant’’.

"It is always a nice atmosphere during the posy-making sessions - everyone enjoys a good chat and shares their memories."
