A long-time figure in Dunedin’s musical life and former DSO Composer-in-Residence, Ritchie’s new work continues a creative relationship spanning decades.
Cellist Inbal Meggido takes centre stage as soloist, bringing her acclaimed warmth, depth and artistry to this exciting new concerto.
Under the direction of conductor Brent Stewart, the programme also features the elegance of Gabriel Fauré’s Masques et Bergamasques and the exhilarating energy of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 — one of the most joyful and electrifying works in the orchestral repertoire.
