The Summer Book Sale finished on Sunday afternoon,
Club administrative director Sue Svensson said the book sale aimed to bring like-minded people together — all in search of a good read.
"[It is] lovely to see families come in and they go to their separate sections."
She thanked the community for continuing to support such a worthwhile project.
Thirty Rotary volunteers worked in shifts to keep the sale running smoothly.
"It’s a really big commitment by the [volunteers] that run it — that’s why it works," Ms Svensson said.
Browsers appreciated that the books were sorted by genre, which made it easier to find a suitable read.
While the final figure raised was not known, Ms Svensson believed it would be on par with — or above — last year’s effort.
Proceeds from the summer book sale support international causes, while funds from the club’s longer-running King’s Birthday Weekend book sale go to local events.
