The winners of the annual awards, based on the 2015 sporting year, were announced at a function in Cromwell last night and Kuzma was chosen as senior sportswoman of the year as well as taking top honours, winning the Bruce Grant Memorial Trophy.
Kuzma achieved some of the best results of her career last year, including the overall Sprint US Grand Prix series title, second place in the FIS Freeski World Cup tour, second on the AFP World Tour in the women's halfpipe and fifth at the X Games.
Wanaka para-snowboarder Carl Murphy, awarded the senior sportsman title, won a World Cup gold in Canada in the banked slalom, won a World Cup bronze in boardercross and a silver medal at the X Games.
Lucy Geddes and Macaela Turfus, who make up the Dunstan High School under-17 girls' double-scull combination, won the team of the year award.
They struck gold in the under-17 double sculls at the South Island and NZ Secondary Schools Championships.
Wanaka freeskier Beau-James Wells, who finished second in the men's superpipe at the Dew Tour in Breckenridge, US, won the junior sportsman title.
The junior sportswoman title went to Holly Wigg, of Hawea Flat. She was part of the national karate team that competed at the Commonwealth Karate Championships in India.
Coach of the year, Alexandra rowing, cycling, hockey and boxing coach Simon Smith, coached the Dunstan rowing team, and national under-17 road race and time trial cycling champion Nicole Shields. The John Fitzharris Memorial Trophy for services to sport went to Cromwell squash stalwart Don McDonald.
