High school’s drama production praised

Dunstan High School [DHS] drama students: actors and backstage crew, their parents and DHS’s art dept teachers: take a bow!

Last week Alexandra Community Centre audiences were treated to an outstanding drama production by a very talented, vibrant group of young people.

The choice of play is to be highly commended.

It was funny, insightful about human behaviour

and the many one-liners were delivered with such aplomb.

The joy these young people shared in this production was something to behold.

The simple yet effective backdrop created intimate theatre, and the changes in scene and props were faultless.

All in all, the audience was left with so much hope. This production spoke so much about why those of us, the adults, must continue to provide a world for our young that offers much more hope.

Through this production these students, parents and teachers made a profound statement about what is "good" in our society, our home town.

It reminded us of how rich our talent is here at home, in our own backyard and how much we must cherish and support our youth as they aspire to be the best they can be.

Congratulations to all concerned — and to all (students, teachers and parents) who are involved in ensuring our local high school, Dunstan High School, continues to shine and ‘punch so far above its weight’ — across the arts, sports, culturally and academically.
