St Gerard's School pupils worked tirelessly planting native shrubs in Alexandra yesterday as part of a community project.

About 30 pupils donned gloves, grabbed spades and spent the morning planting natives from the Clyde Community Eco-Nursery at Lookout Reserve near Shaky Bridge.

Keep Alexandra Clyde Beautiful member Bev Thomson said it was important other residents understood the value of working bees like this as it ''benefits all of us''.
