Fiona Reeve is project lead at Huddl, an initiative that aims to support community groups, charities, and networks in Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes. She said the two areas had been identified as priorities for local non-profit groups.
"Our Community Needs Assessment survey revealed that over 70% of local organisations are facing significant challenges, particularly around governance and funding. We’re excited to offer practical training that directly responds to those needs," Mrs Reeve said.
The funding fundamentals workshop, led by Fi McPhee and Anna Mathieson, from Revolutionise, would be at Alexandra Community House on August 19.
"Sustainable funding is crucial for long-term impact and we want to equip local non-profit groups with the skills and knowledge to help set them up for success," Mrs Reeve said.
The workshop will take attendees through the building blocks of a successful funding request, giving participants insights and practical skills to help secure funding.
The second workshop was for aspiring, new, and experienced chairpersons seeking to strengthen leadership and governance skills.
Running in Cromwell on September 9, the workshop will be facilitated by governance specialist Giselle McLachlan, founder of Grounded Governance.
It is designed to help navigate responsibilities, lead effective meetings, foster strong board dynamics and provide strategic oversight.
