Building guinea pig for ‘fine-tuning’ restoration

Waitaki District Council contractors work on the council's recently acquired Thames St property to ''fine-tune'' best practice for maintenance and repairs on Oamaru's heritage limestone buildings.

A report to the council's assets committee yesterday states the work will help the council, Heritage New Zealand and private landlords in future restoration and conservation work in the Heritage New Zealand listed Oamaru historic harbour area.
