Waimate residents have just one month to put forward names of locals they believe should receive official recognition for their work within the community.
Nominations for the Waimate District Council 2014 Civic Awards close on February 7. Mayor Craig Rowley said the awards played an important part in recognising the ''tireless'' work of the district's ''unsung'' volunteers.
The awards started in 2010 and last year the selection committee had '' a real struggle'' to select just four recipients, he said.
