Waitaki residents will have an opportunity to have their say on the Waitaki District Council's draft annual plan 2008-09 over the next week.
Public meetings will be held in the Palmerston Sports Hall tomorrow, the Kingsgate Hotel Brydone on Monday and the Kurow Hall next Wednesday.
Strategy group manager Richard Mabon said further information would be provided on proposed projects and expenditure.
The council encouraged people to attend and have their say on what it planned to do next year.
An overall rates increase of 6.4% was proposed, although increases for individual ratepayers would vary.
Submissions on the draft plan close on May 13 and the final version is expected to be adopted in late June.
A free submission writing workshop will be held at the Kingsgate Hotel Brydone on Tuesday at 7pm.
The workshop will cover the basics of writing submissions and offer tips on how to write an effective submissions.
