Water limits eased

The Clutha District Council has lifted water restrictions for 300 farmers and residents in the north of the district and the North Bruce rural water scheme reservoir is expected to be at capacity today.

Water restrictions were put in place on February 20 for users of the scheme from Lovells Flat to Waihola after the West Boundary Rd reservoir's levels became critically low.

However, the reservoir's levels were restored after contractors found seven minor leaks in the scheme.

Stage One summer restrictions remain in place. Watering is restricted to between 8pm and 8am only, throughout the district.
