Of the 29 Otago pupils to receive Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards recently, 12 of them were Blue Mountain College pupils.

Duke of Edinburgh co-ordinator Vicki Crawford said the achievement was ‘‘momentous''. ‘

‘We are the second smallest secondary school in Otago so we are thrilled.''

The pupils received their medals at a function at St Hilda's Collegiate in Dunedin on November 15.
