Heriot Plunket will present ‘‘A Night with Eric Rush'' at the Heriot Community Centre on August 14.

Plunket Heriot subbranch president Angela McHutchon said the former All Black was the logical choice for the fundraiser as it would appeal to men as well as women.

‘‘He came highly recommended and is meant to be really funny. He's a bit of a New Zealand icon really and we wanted to attract more husbands and wives.

‘‘People should come along for a great night out and to support an amazing cause.

‘‘ Plunket is fantastic and has done a lot of great things for mums here and throughout New Zealand.''

Proceeds will go towards funding the local Karitane nurse and to meet the needs of Plunket in the area.

• Tickets cost $65, which includes a buffet dinner supplied by Vanilla Pod, and are available from Ideal Print or by calling Angela McHutchon on (03) 204-8545. Groups of 10 will receive a complimentary bottle of wine and a courtesy coach will be available.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
