A man is being transported to hospital after suffering burns in an incident in Wyndham.
St John said a 23-year-old man with moderate injuries was taken to Invercargill Hospital.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire services were alerted to an incident in Wyndham about 2.30pm.
An appliance was sent from Wyndham as well as a medical first responder from Edendale.
The man had suffered burns in the incident although there was no information on what happened or what caused the burns.
Firefighters were still at the scene assissting.
