Police are appealing for information after vandals damaged property in Edendale at the weekend.
Overnight on Sunday a large amount of damage was done to property around the Southland township, including graffiti, a spokesperson said today.
The public toilets on Seaward Rd sustained damage including smashed windows and graffiti, a local man said.
Other damage included graffiti on the train and railway line, as well as glass smashed from a telephone box, he said.
Footage taken from security cameras at the Edendale Dairy & Takeaway, which point towards the public toilets, should help police with their investigation, an employee said.
Police urged anyone with information to call Wyndham Police on (03) 206 2160.
