The South Pacific Magic consolidated its spot at the top of the women's A grade standings with a 67-53 win against Varsity A at the Edgar Centre on Tuesday evening.
The team is undefeated after three games and was led to victory by centre Natalie Visger.
She produced a dominant display on the inside, collecting a game-high 20 points.
Varsity struggled to contained Visger and gave up plenty of fouls while trying the stop the Goldrush player. She was just too big and too strong for Grace Love, who got the unenviable task of marking her.
Visger also had a solid match on defence, grabbing some key rebounds, and Soraya Umaga-Jensen had a good shooting night with 14 points.
For Varsity, guard Jeanie Pattison scored 18 points in a losing effort.
In the other match, Ajax beat Andy Bay Falcons 58-34. Ajax spread the scoring evenly but Goldrush player Daniel Frost stood out with 12 points in a busy game.
The Falcons were without captain Jodi Hope, who missed the game with a back complaint. But Jenna Small stepped up with 15 points in her last game for the club.
