Tukaha Cooper has completed a one-month suspension imposed by the Sports Tribunal after he tested positive for cannabis.

The Southland Sharks guard tested positive following a National Basketball League game in Wellington on July 20.

Cooper, 23, gave evidence his use was recreational and unrelated to sports performance.

The commission accepted Cooper’s position. It imposed the one-month ban and required that he complete a treatment programme for substance abuse. Cooper has completed the programme which means he is now eligible to play again. — Allied Media.
