Albion, led by a Jamie Glenn century, smashed a staggering 426 for seven off 50 overs then dismissed Taieri for 218 inside 36 overs.
Club sporting records tend to be less than reliable but it seems highly unlikely another club has passed 425 in Dunedin senior cricket, and a winning margin of more than 200 runs is rare in the one-day game.
Only one other game was completed, with George Spittle (Pelichet Bay) and Darren Broom (North East Valley) cracking hundreds as the Valley claimed a seven-wicket win at Bayfield.
Two other games were abandoned.
Green Island was 129 for three after 23 overs in pursuit of Carisbrook-Dunedin's 200 for eight when the game was called off at Sunnyvale, and just seven overs were possible in the game between University-Grange and Kaikorai at the Oval.
Albion 426/7 beat Taieri 218 by 208 runs at Culling Park
Brutal.
That was the only word to sum up Albion's batting performance as it dominated a stunned Taieri bowling attack.
From the moment fringe Otago opener Shaun Haig and the in-form Jamie Glenn thrashed 136 for the opening wicket, it looked like being Albion's day.
Haig made 74 but was almost overshadowed by Glenn, who scorched to his 50 off just 29 balls.
Glenn, who could come into the Otago reckoning if he keeps scoring runs, went on to his century, reaching 107 off 53 balls before being caught by Reuben Simpson off the bowling of Michael MacKenzie.
The onslaught continued as Sam Ward (81), PJ Cairns (56) and Nathan King (54) pushed the score higher and higher, enjoying the true bounce of the artificial pitch and the short boundaries.
Tony Hannagan had the unusual bowling figures of four for 71 off nine overs for Taieri, while Brad Frost (60 runs off four overs) and Ryan Dowling (62 off five) were also put to the sword.
Jarrad Waldron played close to a lone hand in reply, reaching 96 in brisk fashion, but the need to chase runs led to Taieri folding in the 36th over.
Nick Cape and Sam Welsh each took three wickets for Albion.
Bay 263 lost to North East Valley 265/3 by seven wickets at Bayfield
Darren Broom scored a second consecutive century to lead North East Valley on a tricky but successful run-chase.
Broom, the younger brother of Black Caps batsman Neil Broom, made his Dunedin club debut last week, smashing 132 against Kaikorai.
He made it two in a row on Saturday, scoring 124 and combining with opener Dan Power (91) for a match-winning partnership of 215 for the second wicket.
The pair scored at such a rapid rate that North East Valley was able to overhaul Pelichet Bay's total of 263 with nearly 10 overs to spare.
Pelichet Bay did nothing wrong with the bat, setting a reasonable target thanks to George Spittle (130) and Jordan Hindley (42).
Spittle is in his first year out of Otago Boys High School and is another exceptional prospect to watch.
