A PJ Cairns century helped Albion push further clear at the top of the table as it comfortably beat Kaikorai by 83 runs.
Taieri's struggles continued when it failed to chase down Green Island's small total of 129, while there was a rare tie between University-Grange and Otago Country.
Carisbrook-Dunedin 194/9 beat North East Valley 185 at Tonga Park 1
Carisbrook-Dunedin's top order once again struggled to assert dominance, with only Brad Rodden (43) applying himself on a sticky pitch.
Coel Mahoney (two for 28 off 10) troubled the Carisbrook middle order, leaving Tony McIntyre (38) and Rhys Phillips (51) with the rescue job.
Darren Broom (65) came to the crease early and started to swing the initiative in Valley's favour.
When Rhys Phillips (four for 33 off 10) had Broom stumped, it started a period of 10 overs that went for fewer than 10 runs.
Nice hitting from Jesse Ruwhiu (38) gave a Valley a sniff at victory, but it was not enough for Valley to retain the trophy.
Albion 289/7 beat Kaikorai 206 at Tonga Park 2
A late start due to some damp patches on and around the Tonga Park No 2 pitch did not prevent Albion from extending its winning streak.
PJ Cairns (104) and Mark Craig (90) were in a class of their own during a 183-run partnership that was the foundation for Albion's total of 289.
Craig Sneddon (five for 72 off 10) was expensive but the key wicket-taker.
Gallant efforts from Charlie Hendry (41), Iain Robertson (50) and Shammi Rodrigo (32no) were not enough, and Kaikorai fell well short.
Patrick Cairns (four for 54 off 10) and PJ Cairns (three for 13 off 4) were the big wicket-takers in the comfortable defence.
Green Island 129 beat Taieri 86 at Sunnyvale
At the lunch break, Taieri must have thought it was in with a good chance at taking the points from a shell-shocked Green Island, which had scrambled through to only 129.
Tight bowling from Brad Frost (three for 25 off 10) and Ben Kidston (two for 19 off 7) meant Jordan Sheed (30) was the only batsman to get over 15.
By the time Taieri had made 20 runs, four wickets had fallen, and the writing was on the wall.
The evergreen Dion Lobb almost single-handedly dismissed the top order, and by the time he had taken his fifth wicket, for only 15 runs from 8.1 overs, Taieri was all out 43 runs short.
University-Grange 195/7 tied with Otago Country 195/9 at Molyneux Park
Opener Mark Collie (47) started well, getting University-Grange through to 99 for one.
Mark Knox (three for 36 off 10) took some quick wickets to bring Otago Country back into the game, until Steve Jakeway (35 not out) provided the late impetus to get Grange through to 195.
Peter Breen (80) and Fraser Wilson (41) had Country rollicking along, comfortably above the run rate.
However, Michael Bracewell (three for 28 off 10) and Jesse Simpson (one for 20 off 8) pegged Country back after the second drinks break.
Two runs were required from the last ball, but a placed shot into the off side resulted in just a single, leaving both teams feeling as if they could have done more.
