Brook and company arrived in New Zealand yesterday ahead of a series involving three T20s and three ODIs against the Black Caps.
They are getting a few days in Queenstown to shake off the jet lag before transferring to Christchurch for the opening T20.
"I think we’re all little bit tired after that flight but we’re looking forward to what New Zealand presents," Brook said.
"It’s an awesome place to come and tour. There are so many places to visit, and lots of good experiences, and New Zealand are a very good side."
Brook, who became England’s permanent white-ball captain early this year, has positive recent memories of his own form in this country.
He blasted scores of 171, 123 and 55 in the 2-1 test series win late last year.
"It’s such a good place to come and play.
"New Zealand always come hard at you. They’re a very competitive side. I’ve enjoyed playing here in the past."
He likes to play cricket in New Zealand and he is also getting plenty of opportunities to talk cricket with some prominent New Zealanders.
Black Caps greats Brendon McCullum (head coach) and Tim Southee (skills coach) — who was bowling against Bell in the test arena less than a year ago — are on the English side in this series.
"They’re great blokes. They’re always up for a good time and they stay in the moment as much as they can.
"They’ve got a nice outlook on life. They’re living in such a beautiful country, and the way that they play the game as well is really good, and it rubs off on us and the way we want to play the game.
"It’s awesome to have the experience those guys have in our side to help us along the way.
"Tim is a belting bloke. I love spending time with Tim."
Brook said England had a healthy respect for the Black Caps, who are coming off a T20 series loss to Australia but should welcome back white-ball captain Mitchell Santner.
"They’re obviously a very good side. Mitch Santner’s a phenomenal player, and there’s some outstanding players in there.
"We don’t take any team lightly, and we’re going to go full-throttle at everyone."
All international cricket carries some measure of significance.
Most, however, assume many of the English players will have one eye on the Ashes, starting in Perth on November 21, while playing this series in New Zealand.
"Any opportunity to play cricket for your country and pull on the three lions is awesome," Brook said.
"I’m really looking forward to the next couple of months. We’ve got this series against New Zealand first and the Ashes after that and then a T20 World Cup, so this can be a great stepping stone for that."
The T20s between the Black Caps and England are in Christchurch (Saturday and October 20) and Auckland (October 23), while the ODIs are in Mt Maunganui (October 26), Hamilton (October 29) and Wellington (November 1).
