Racing: Change in partnership

Peter Simpson has dropped out of the training partnership with Graeme Rogerson.

Rogerson began training standardbreds last season and took Simpson as a partner.

The duo had 19 wins.

They have had one win this season.

Simpson had returned from overseas.

He first trained in NZ in the 1990-91 season in partnership with Peter Blanchard.

He was subsequently in partnership with Jason Beattie.

Rogerson will seek another partner.

• Horses remaining in the $1.2 million NZ Trotting Trotting Cup at Addington next Tuesday are: Absolute Magic, Awesome Armbro, Bachelorette, Baileys Dream, B Grudge, Changeover, Chilli, Gotta Go Cullen, Keeprightondreaming, Likmesiah, Monkey King, Ohoka Rebel, Presido, Report For Duty, Special Ops, Tribute, Waipawa Lad, Zenad.

• Dubai ruler Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum has paid $US2.5 million ($NZ4.28 million) for the broodmare Away at the Keeneland sales.

Away is in foal to Unbridled's Song.

The ill-fated Eight Belles, a sister to the foal in utero, was runner-up in the Kentucky Derby.

The Sheik paid $3 million for the grade one winner Hystericalady, The day one aggregate of $US48 million was down from $US109 million in the same session of 2007.
