The top four is almost set in stone with the three leading sides all recording wins and Kaikorai likley too far ahead to slip out of the playoff spots.

Competition leader Southern beat Zingari-Richmond 38-13 to secure the Eric Watson Cup at Montecillo.

Harbour wrestled the Challenge Shield off Taieri at Peter Johnstone Park with a 23-10 victory, and Dunedin beat Alhambra-Union 17-5 at the North Ground.

They were all perhaps predictable results but Green Island's upset 40-37 win against University at the University Oval may have caught a few off guard.

Kaikorai had the bye.
