Awesome Adam leads Highlanders to win

We had a shaky first half with no territory, lots of possession and handling errors, giving away early points. Adam Thomson levelled the scores for half time and the Highlanders would have breathed a sigh of relief.

In the second half we recovered well with three tries in the first fifteen minutes. Thomson got a hat trick of tries and Ben Smith got a double. To make the tries happen they did good wrapping and off-loading. Hosea Gear set up a few plays that created gaps with his special moves.

Thomson played really awesome. He didn't just score tries, he also helped to set some up. Jason Rutledge had accurate lineout throws and didn't make many errors. He was quick to the breakdown. Ben Smith was just like Adam Thomson, helping set up tries and scoring them too. Aaron Smith, the halfback put great kicks in that also set up tries.

The Highlanders played for a deserved win. The final score was 43-12.

Next week we have the Stormers at Forsyth Barr, but we need to play twice as good as we did against the Rebels. The Highlanders will have to play good rugby for the full game, not just the second half.
