Otago Boys' High School First XV are through to the South Island Top Four final thanks to a try-scoring blitz midway through the second half at Littlebourne today.

Southland Boys' High School arguably had the better of the first spell but the home team scored three tries in eight minutes to win 26-7.

The backs scored all four of Otago Boys' tries, left winger Michael Manson nabbing two.

Second five-eighth Reuben Wairau did not get across the chalk but he had mighty game in the midfield, while right winger Max Brown and fullback Isaak Te Hiwi were constant threats.

Up front, blindside flanker Joseph Aldrich-Williams made some thunderous tackles and lock Levi Turoa put in a solid performance.

Southland Boys' were perhaps unlucky to trail 5-0 at halftime having dominated possession and territory.

Captain and openside flanker Sean Withy was the best forward in the game. When he was not tackling he was hitting the ball up or grabbing lineout takes. It was an impressive outing.

Otago Boys' will play Christchurch Boys' High School in the South Island final in Christchurch nest weekend. The winner will go on to the Top Four Finals.

In the  co-ed tournament, Gore High School beat St Kevin's College 23-20 to progress to the South Island final.
