A busy intersection in the Selwyn district has reopened after a person was trapped in a car following a serious crash on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the three-car crash at the intersection of Boundary and Shands Rds, near Lincoln, at 7.57am.
Fire and Emergency NZ said one person was trapped in a car and rescued by a crew from the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Hato Hone St John said one person was taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries.
The road was blocked for a time but was reopened just after 9am.
