A person is dead after a truck rolled in Roxburgh this afternoon.
Police this evening said emergency services were called to the scene, at the Grovers Hill walking track off Teviot St, about 3.15pm.
Initially police said it appeared a person had sustained critical injuries, but in an update at 7.25pm they confirmed a person had died at the scene.
"The walking track has been closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination, and the public are advised to avoid the area."
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said crews from Roxburgh, Alexandra and Millers Flat were in attendance this afternoon.
Police and ambulance were also at the scene.
Inquiries are ongoing.
