This is an occasion often marked with crystal and timepieces, both of which would be an entirely appropriate accessory to the glamour and sophistication iD brings to the city.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the International Emerging Designer Fashion awards, with 27 collections from nine countries, marking the esteem in which these awards are held internationally.
iD Dunedin Fashion Week is one of the city's yearly favourites and Dunedin is very fortunate with its plethora of creative talent, particularly in the fashion sector and I'm looking forward to seeing this year's offerings, from the emerging designers (some of which will be on display at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery) to the well-established local ones and, of course, the international guests.
I always enjoy seeing our museums, galleries and libraries given over to the decadence of fashion as well. The blend of couture, haute, vintage or experimental in these lovely spaces adds another layer to the sparkle of the city during Fashion Week.
The eclectic events invite any and every dedicated follower of fashion to do their rounds of the boutiques of Dunedin town.
It is an exciting and fun few days ahead. Take the opportunity to revel in it.
