Ayla McIntyre is the manager of Witchery in Meridian Mall, so is lucky enough to have access to a huge range of beautiful clothes every season.
I caught up with Ayla to talk to her about her style, which is all about being comfortable, while still looking great.
How would you describe your personal style?
How has your sense of style evolved over the years?
Before working in women's fashion apparel I really had no idea about style. I was very much an "active wear" girl. It was very rare for me to put that much effort into what I was wearing unless I was going out for a function, and when I did I had no idea what was "in" and what wasn't.
I'm now definitely "dressy casual". I know what makes me look good and I know what makes me feel good while remaining comfortable, and that's what I tend to go for.
Where do you seek inspiration for what to wear?
What are you go-to pieces this winter?
This winter I'm all for bomber jackets. You can dress them up by wearing over a dress or dress pants, yet you can wear them casually with a pair of blue denim high-rise jeans and a basic white crew neck tee tucked in and your fave sneakers... (Comfort - that's what I'm all about)
What's an item you're eyeing up this season?
What's your fave fashion season and why?
I looove AW (Autumn/Winter) with deep earthy colours, winter coats, chunky knits, tailored pants - you have so many options to layer with. You get to be cosy all day. Winter = comfort.
What's your biggest fashion faux pa?
Why did you pick the outfit you choose?
I picked this outfit because I love the different textures going on. Pairing delicate lace and silk with a nice woollen coatigan and distressed denim. It's dressy without being overdone. I felt comfortable and warm. It's a nice light colour palette, Sometimes it's good to get away from black.
