Proud win for first-time entrant

Some might say it was beginner’s luck when Dunedin Print won a gold medal and a highly commended award on its first attempt at the Pride in Print Awards.

But whether it was their first entry or their 50th, it had no bearing on the judges’ decisions.

The company was a popular winner of a gold medal for industry development and creativity in the promo folder category, and was highly commended for industry development and creativity in the Christmas card category.

Dunedin Print managing director Dale Hopkins was delighted with the awards.

"We’re absolutely stoked about it because we only entered two categories.

"Some companies put in 30 entries.

"We were just sitting at the table and we heard our name come out and we all went ‘wahey’.

"It was all very surreal really, considering it was the first time we have ever entered in the awards.

"We are very proud of our gold medal."

The Pride in Print Awards were established in 1993 and are considered the pinnacle of recognition for the best in visual print communication products.
