Meridian Mall centre manager Stacey Johnston said the arrival of City Fitness and Modern Mens Barber to the mall later this month would bring occupancy on the upper level to 100%.
City Fitness, opening June 20, would fill the remainder of the now subdivided former Smiths City site next to JB Hi-Fi, which is already home to Toyworld.
The fitout was currently under way for Modern Mens Barber, she said.
Both new tenants would join NZ Muscle, which opened next to The Coffee Club on the upper level last month.
Meridian Mall also announced the opening of Memory Lane, a free display that re-created typical Kiwi children's bedrooms throughout the decades.
Located inside Toyworld, it would showcase toys and memorabilia that generations of New Zealanders grew up with.
It was created by New Zealand toy enthusiasts and collectors Paul Reid and Steve Loveday, alongside designer and architect Bahador Borhani.
In a statement, Mr Reid said sometimes seeing an old toy could bring back ‘‘a lot of forgotten good memories’’.
‘‘I believe it's good if we can all be in touch with our inner child.’’
Mr Loveday said the collection came together through a vast combination of personal connections overseas, eBay, fellow New Zealand collectors and sellers, as well as donations.
Finding the right items was harder than expected.
‘‘We needed to find items that filled the rooms without making them feel cluttered, while also choosing pieces that packed some punch within a relatively tight budget.
‘‘Good collectables are now very costly, and shipping costs from overseas are high, so finding items that grab attention and look great at a reasonable price was probably the hardest part.’’
Ms Johnston said the mall was excited to provide a space where visitors of all ages could reminisce, share stories and experience nostalgia.
‘‘We believe it will become a popular destination for both locals and visitors.’’
Memory Lane officially opens today at 1pm.
