Chamber music contest

The 2009 New Zealand Community Trust Chamber Music Contest Dunedin district finals take place at Marama Hall this weekend.

Musicians will compete for selection in the national final in Christchurch on August 1.

The finals start at 6.30pm tomorrow and at 9.30am, 11.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

Speaking her art

Blue Oyster Gallery director Jaenine Parkinson will talk about the art space at a Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society coffee morning at 10.30am on Wednesday, June 17, at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

After the talk there will be a tour of the underground Blue Oyster. Free, all welcome.

80 years of Operatic

Dunedin Operatic is celebrating 80 dramatic years this weekend with an anniversary lunch at the Savoy Restaurant.
