T. S. Eliot's poem about a thieving cat called Macavity was written in the 1930s and, amazingly, it hasn't dated.

Macavity is not a pretty cat and nor are his actions: stealing jewels and milk and evading the police at every turn.

It's all so ridiculous it's fun.

Usually more suited to older children, younger readers will enjoy Arthur Robins' kooky illustrations, which make up for some of the words being inaccessible. Ages 3+.
