This is one of those films that tries so hard and costs so much only to end up as not as bad as you would think.
Megan Fox is perky newshound April O'Neil who is desperate to break out from puff pieces into serious journalism.
She does this by cycling around the darkened city hoping to stumble upon a big story.
And guess what, she does!
The city is being terrorised by a group known as the Foot Clan and April sees them being defeated by some mysterious vigilantes.
Plucky April tracks down the vigilantes and (you are never going to believe this) they turn out to be giant turtles who speak English!
April is a little surprised but as a red-hot journalist she peppers them with questions until they crack and tell her they are also teenagers who are trained ninjas!
April has her story but no-one will believe her.
Desperate, she rushes to the nearest untrustworthy-looking industrialist she can find, Eric Sacks (William Fichtner), and pours out her scoop.
Mr Sacks is interested and tells her to dig deeper.
Golly, what will happen next?
Best thing: There is an extended action sequence where goodies, baddies and vehicles are sliding down a snow-covered mountain. It makes no sense yet is totally awesome.
Worst thing: You would think that four giant turtles would be memorable but this is something you forget in hours.
See it with: Pre-teen boys.
