Review: NBA 2K10

Wait, didn't you review a basketball game last week?: Yup.

2K Sports
Xbox 360
Hayden Meikle
Four Stars (out of 5)

That was NBA Live 10, from EA Sports.

This one's from the other mob.

Authentic?: Totally. Unlike NFL football, the NBA allows two separate video game titles to be officially licensed.

Kobe, LeBron, CP3 . . .: And Garnett, 'Melo, Duncan, JKidd, Nowitzki, Brian Scalabrine . . .

Cover boy: Mr Kobe Bryant, star shooting guard from your Los Angeles Lakers, four-time NBA champion, the only genuine rival for LeBron James's title of Best Player In The World.

Milestone: The game marks 10 years of the NBA 2K franchise.

Features: A new My Player mode that allows you to create a character and level him up through draft camps and the D-League; better dribbling and post game controls; and a whole lotta new dunks.

They say: "With solid, fast-paced gameplay and an excellent presentation that's easily the best the series has ever had, NBA 2K10 continues its strong pedigree of great basketball." - IGN.

I say: Neither better nor worse than NBA Live 10. Requires patience and a reasonable knowledge of basketball to get the most out of it.
