Ready to go: Children from Oxford Kindergarten braved the threat of bad weather and spent two hours riding for young people with diabetes.
Oxford Kindergarten held a bikea-thon to raise money for child diabetes and, despite the threat of rain, there was a healthy turnout of peddlers and parents.
Oxford Kindergarten head teacher Katrina Blondell said the children met a young girl with diabetes last year and decided to raise some money for young people with diabetes.
‘‘They were awesome,'' Mrs Blondell said.
‘‘We had great support from families but there were some tired legs the day after.''
Mrs Blondell was unsure how much was raised as some children were paid per lap and some were given donations.
