South Australian police have checked security arrangements at parliament house in Adelaide in the wake of the London terror attack.

Police say those arrangements remain appropriate, but will be continually reviewed.

"With respect to the Westminster incident in London, South Australian police have no information to suggest that there is any specific threat to people, parliament house or other locations in South Australia," police said in a statement on Thursday.

"South Australia police continually assess information as it comes to hand and if need be, will take timely and appropriate action to escalate security arrangements if required."

Earlier a spokesman for the parliament said details of security arrangements would not be made public.

However, he said "the matter is in hand in the light of what has happened in other jurisdictions".
