Ex-bikie gets six years' jail for rampage

A former Bandido bikie member who fired a shotgun from the back seat of a taxi during a violent rampage on the Gold Coast has been given a six-year prison sentence.

Leonard David Toalei (29) was sentenced in the Southport District Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to 10 charges from the June 2013 rampage, including going armed to cause fear, serious assault and assault occasioning bodily harm.

But Toalei will be immediately eligible for parole after Judge David Kent took into account three years of pre-sentence custody the ex-bikie served before this week's hearing.
