Flooding has caused the closure of two highways in Gippsland in Victoria's southeast.
Police say the South Gippsland Highway between Woodside and Orbost has been closed due to fallen trees and flooding while the Monaro Highway between Cann River and the NSW border is also blocked.
The State Emergency Service has been busy responding to more than 200 calls for help from residents in the region.
"We are experiencing quite a lot of call-outs," said an SES spokeswoman.
The majority calls are for help to cover leaking roofs and remove fallen branches.
The rain is expected to continue during the night and into Tuesday morning.
Three Victorian rivers, the La Trobe, Barwon and Thompson, are carrying moderate warnings as rain continues to fall across Victoria.
The Otways in the state's southwest has copped the brunt so far with 200mm since 9am Sunday.
