With about 150 stalls and about 12,000 people, Mr Weatherall said it was by far the largest gala day in the event's 19-year history.

Temperatures reached the mid-20s and families came by the car-load to spend the day in Brighton. Unfortunately, the sheer number of people meant there were long queues for everything, even to get into the seaside community.
Traffic queued 2km back to Ocean View at times, leaving some a little worse for wear by the time they reached the event.
''It did cause us some queues in some areas, but generally the crowd were very supportive and very positive,'' Mr Weatherall said.
''Without hesitation, we apologise to the community for any inconvenience with significant traffic flows in and around Brighton.
''The road network is not something that we control, but we are always looking at ways to improve, so maybe a park-and-ride or some other options could be a possibility for next year.
''We'll take it on the chin, and say part of success is the embarrassment of significant numbers being out here, but we're big enough and ugly enough to ask ourselves how do we do it better next time.''
