Firefighters have clarified that there was no blaze at the University of Otago Central Library in Dunedin today, but they did deal with smoke coming from a generator.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman provided the update, after an earlier callout to the complex in Albany St about noon after alarms sounded.
The incident with the generator was dealt with safely.
