Climate activists protest outside the Dunedin courthouse before Jennifer Shulzitski and Jonathon Rowe-Visser appear in the dock.

The pair faced charges in the Dunedin District Court yesterday after police were called to a Nelson protest on Saturday.

Two Greenpeace demonstrators boarded a fishing boat, Talley's Amaltal Columbia, and refused to leave. One held a banner and attached themselves to the vessel.

Both defendants were remanded on bail to appear again next month.
