Cowboy 'comfortable'

Professional cowboy Cam Billing, of Te Awamutu, remains in a ''comfortable'' condition in the spinal unit of Burwood Hospital following his serious injury at the Outram Rodeo on February 6.

Mr Billing was competing in the open saddle bronc division when his horse reared in the stall as the gate opened and he was slammed into the back of the chutes.

He was not wearing protective head gear. He was airlifted by the Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter to Dunedin Hospital and later transferred to Burwood, in Christchurch.
