Dunedin police are investigating a suspicious scrub fire near Fairfield early this morning.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said an appliance from Lookout Point Station was called to a grass fire among pine trees about 2am.
The fire was about 30sqm and took about 20 minutes to extinguish.
She said the incident was being treated as suspicious and Dunedin police were now investigating.
